i. The National Rehabilitation Program (NRP) (2011)

  • His Majesty placed NRP under the umbrella of National Land Commission Secretariat

Aim: Contribute towards poverty reduction by enhancing sustainable livelihoods.

ü  -The Program is mandated to provide basic infrastructures such as land, house, food and agriculture inputs (seeds, seedlings), power, water supply, farm roads, irrigation, lhakhangs, outreach clinics, extended classrooms, community centers and others.

. Borangmo at Nganglam Gewog in Pemagatshel

ü  The project commenced in 2012

ü  People were granted plots to build houses, apart from farmland

ü  Assistance were provided to build their houses and for agriculture

ü  The village has BHU for health checkup, and Lhakhang for spiritual purposes

c. Dewathang

ü  Road was constructed

ü  Houses were electrified

ü  Potable water and other amenities including school were provided

ü  Solar fencing, irrigation channels, rice and flour mills and cornflake machine were provided

d. Bebji in Sombaykha dungkhag in Haa

 Royal Education Council – New Times, New Measures

ü  Established in August 2007 upon Royal command

ü  Initiate and implement educational reforms across the entire spectrum covering schools, technical and tertiary education.

ü  To design curriculum to build knowledge to have guts to compete with people at international level

ü  To nurture innovative citizens

ü  Helped in framing the curriculum as per the taste of time and students

ü  Example: NNC-New Normal Curriculum

ü  Review, innovate, and develop relevant curriculum and teaching learning materials for school education

ü  Develop and provide teacher professional development programmes for efficient implementation of school curriculum.

Royal Kashos-Educationa and Civil Service Reforms

ü  His Majesty The King, on February 2, symbolically handed over to the people of Bhutan two kashos on the reforms decreed for the education and civil service during the 113 National Day celebration on December 17 in Punakha dzong
