  • Born on February 21, 1980 to His Majesty the King Jigme Singye Wangchuck and Her Majesty Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck.
  • Brought up in Namgaycholing and Samtenling Palace in Thimphu, and Phuntshop Pelri in Punakha.
  • His Majesty received his formal schooling at Lungtenzampa and Yangchenphu schools with training in traditional arts and code of conduct and ethics.
  • Subjected to common experiences of a Bhutanese youth.
  • His Majesty stayed in the country till his late teens to learn the statecraft from his illustrious father.
